Fire Chief's Message

Kenneth Powell was appointed as Fire Chief for the City of Culver City on September 14, 2020. Chief Powell started with the City of Culver City as a Reserve Firefighter over 27 years ago. He has served in many different capacities leading up to Fire Chief, including Acting Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, Battalion Chief, Captain, Firefighter/Paramedic and Firefighter.

I’m so proud to be able to lead such a dedicated team of men and women as we strive for continuous improvement and excellence in the services we provide to the community of Culver City. Our mission is to provide prompt fire protection and life safety services to the residents, businesses and visitors of this community. As we provide these services, we embody our core values of professionalism, trust, respect, compassion, and humility. I’m excited about what the future holds for this department and the community we serve.
